Charter is building the insurance infrastructure for the space economy. We’re looking for an experienced Founding Technical Broker who combines deep placement expertise across commercial lines with the creativity and ambition to shape a new market.

Because you won’t just be placing cover. You’ll help us build new processes, influence how Charter operates, and directly shape how risk transfer works for the space economy. You’ll have an unfair advantage from the beginning: Charter’s proprietary technology platform and deep data integrations with the space sector give our brokers visibility into client risks before the first call. Our relationships across founders, carriers, and syndicates mean you’ll walk into rooms already warm, with clients who know our name and trust our insight.

In this role, you’ll redefine the future by delivering tailored risk solutions for our clients, and work hand-in-hand with them to insure the future of our civilization.

What You’ll Build and Own:

• Author and refine the playbook for how commercial risks for complex companies in the space sector get covered, with the asymmetric advantage of Charter’s extensive specialist knowledge and customer base.
• Negotiate directly with Lloyd’s and surplus lines carriers, shaping terms and endorsements that set new benchmarks for accuracy and comprehensiveness.
• Own client servicing at a senior level: you’ll own the relationships with CFOs, GCs, and boards as you review binders and policies, identify gaps or exclusions, and recommend endorsements.
• Build the technical backbone of Charter’s brokerage practice: submissions, templates, coverage analyses, compliance, and workflows that scale as we grow. You’ll obsess over manuscript wording, compliance with surplus lines filings, and structuring programs that fully encompass the innovative work and unusual risk that our clients face every day.
• Shape the market by bringing creativity to structuring coverage for clients whose risks don’t fit the usual boxes, and who are too busy building humanity’s future to deal with brokers who don’t understand their needs instinctively. Leverage Charter’s internal technology stack and analytics to deliver sharper submissions and faster turnaround, transforming technical data into market advantage.

What Victory Looks Like:

• You’ll be busy. You’ll help build the brokerage from the ground up in collaboration with Company leadership, and you’ll report directly to the CEO, influencing firm strategy, and seeing your input immediately acted on.
• You’ll be moving fast. Within your first year, you’ll have built a track record of placements that the market talks about. You’ll be the architect of “the Charter way” of structuring risk for the most innovative and important companies in the world.
• Those same companies will see you as their first call for technical coverage questions, because you can explain and solve in plain English.

• You’ll be building at scale: working with clients backed by world-class investors, structuring programs in partnership with Lloyd’s syndicates, and setting standards that others in the industry will follow, powered by Charter’s proprietary data platform that gets you in the door before competitors even know the opportunity exists.

Who You Are:

• 5+ years in commercial/E&S insurance, with strong experience in commercial lines placement (D&O, E&O, Cyber, GL, and Property) and account servicing.
• You know how to get things done in the E&S markets, whether through wholesalers or directly at Lloyd’s. To that end, professional designations (CPCU, RPLU, CIC) strongly preferred but not required.
