The opportunity:

The Senior Associate of Business Operations will report to the Head of Global Ocean Business Operations to develop & execute global ocean strategies, establish and administer global standards, lead data analytics, spearhead technology priorities, and drive product quality. This is a highly cross-functional role that interfaces with business stakeholders including VPs and Directors to deeply understand, analyze, and report on business processes and performance.

You will:

  • Interface with business stakeholders including VPs and Directors to deeply understand, analyze, and report on business processes and performance.
  • Interface with cross-functional teams including Data Analytics, Finance, Client Solutions, and Supply Chain Operations as a trusted representative of the overall ocean and business, owning/driving projects to identify root-causes to critical challenges and find solutions.
  • Own global initiatives to deliver globally optimized results to Ocean P&L by working across Procurement, Pricing, Planning, and District Management teams
  • Drive success of Ocean Global Operating Rhythms including executive weekly business reviews (WBR) by preparing associated data and driving follow up week-to-week on open action items and monthly business reviews (MBR) by collaborating with other stakeholders on building content, analysis and talking points.
  • Manage data analytics tooling and reporting by administering standard tooling and analytics for the ocean leadership team and develop new analytics tooling and drive adoption/roll out in partnership with the Data Analytics team.
  • Partner with product teams to drive development of new tech by providing subject matter expertise, assisting in development of product requirements and user stories, participating in prioritization of product roadmap and specific product and feature sets.
  • Drive and draft global communications to enhance alignment across geographies, and external parties.
  • Learn the global ocean business from an operational and data lens, working cross-functionally to acquire a breadth of knowledge and become a trusted expert in global business operations.
  • Creatively and holistically overcome roadblocks leaving no stones unturned. While you have high attention to detail, you also always keep the big picture in mind.
  • Ensure our teams of all levels are working smarter rather than harder.

You should have:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Data Science, Engineering, Supply Chain Operations, Statistics or other quantitative discipline with 5-7 years’ related experience, or 2-4 years experience with an MBA or Technical Master’s Degree.
  • Experience with excel and data visualization tools to build dashboards (Tableau, Looker, Power BI, etc.) to tell stories anchored in data. You can define metrics and know the trade-offs of using one metric versus another. Strong analytical skills and knowledge of SQL.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
  • Courage to challenge the status quo when logic and reason require it.
  • A "compliance first" attitude to keep our regulators happy and enthusiastic about Flexport since we operate in a heavily regulated industry.

The range displayed on each job posting reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the position across all US locations. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range displayed, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education and / or training.
The US base salary range for this position: (exclusive of bonus, equity and benefits.)
$103,680$115,200 USD
