Engineering Lead [OPEN]
You will be one of the founding team members at Flippy. This opportunity is perfect for people looking to create high impact in a startup. You will wear multiple hats that help you fulfil your responsibilities. You will be shaping the future of the core engineering team through your code and regular interviewing for future hires.
You will be working on the core platform infrastructure, including but not limited to the core trading infrastructure at flippy. This is an extremely hands on job and you will be expected to code, review, test for adherence to quality and security standards that we define at flippy.
Core Responsibilities:
Manage and lead the backend team consisting of yourself and upto 4 junior developers. Mentor the junior engineers to ensure high quality of work and high work satisfaction.
Develop and maintain the core platform infrastructure for both flippy and flippyverse
Collaborate with the frontend, design, and product teams to ensure timely development, deployment and maintenance of both flippy and flippyverse
Maintain and constantly improve the quality of Flippy's backend system
Review, test, and verify code for adherence to quality and security standards that we define at Flippy
Set up analytics and data dashboards to track user journeys and product metrics to track growth
You definitely should have:
Strong knowledge of computer science fundamentals and system design, with 4+ years of experience writing production level code
Experience working with python web services (Webhooks/ REST/ HTTP APIs)
Prior experience deploying and managing a live application on either GCP or AWS
Ability to write production level code, and optimise code (for e.g., latency/ transaction success) based on business requirements
Strong eye for setting up analytics and data dashboards to track user journeys and product metrics to track growth
Strong mathematical/puzzle solving skills: Ability to translate complex puzzles into code
A strong experience in managing stakeholders and mentoring junior developers
A strong interest to learn about blockchain, p2p transactions and smart contracts (or a strong willingness to learn about it: we will help you learn if you are new to this)
Brownie points for having:
Understanding of crypto trading platforms, order books, order types, etc. (or keen interest to learn about it: we will help you learn if you are new to this)
What you need to know:
Frontend: React Native for mobile-app, React/NodeJS for web-app
Backend: Python, SQL, Google Cloud, Docker, Git
