Remote-first at Uizard

You might have heard the terms “remote-first”, “remote-friendly”, “fully distributed”, “partially distributed”, “hybrid model”, etc. But what does this all mean?!?

Remote-first is all about the practices. We embrace remote processes and provide the flexibility to work from anywhere, even for people that are physically located in our hub. The goal is to be one team, regardless of where we live.

You might also hear the term ‘remote-hybrid’ or the ‘hybrid approach’ from time to time. That’s more so the physical side of things—having a physical office (our hub or 🏰 in Copenhagen) and uizards who work from other cities or countries.

What’s an easy way to describe it to someone who doesn’t know the world of remote? Here’s what we recommend: “We’re a remote-first team, with uizards from 19 different nationalities, working across 17 countries (and even more cities!) with our operational hub in Copenhagen.”
